the Officer might draw the attention of the parties concerned (if available) to the provisions of the

Act, and warn them that any person who acts in contra- vention of these provisions exposes himself to the liability of a prosecution on arrival in the United Kingdom. This liability attached to a person who employs an alien in contravention of the Law as well as to an alien who acts in contravention of these provisions.

With reference to sub-section 2 of Section

5, it is to be observed that Standard Rates of Wages for seamen have not been fixed for seamen engaged at ports out of the United Kingdom for ships regis- tered in the United Kingdom.

With reference to Sub-section (3) of Section 5, it will be observed that a British subject is not required under the Act to produce proof of nationality before he can be engaged;
